The technique of externally pre-stressed reinforcement has unique advantage in improving the capacity of bridges. The thesis studied about the working property, the analysis of finite element and strengthen effect of the externally per-stressed simple supported beams, mainly finished a few aspects:The study analyzed the characteristic of the technique and the research status of externally pre-stressed, nonlinear survey of research .The thesis studied three externally pre-stressed simple beams. The results that ANSYS analysis program coincided with test results showed that the model is reliable. The main conclusion is as follows: short-term rigidity of beam can be improved by setting rotation block and arranged poly-line external steel; Bearing capacity of beams may be increased as number of rotation block; Cracking load may be improved by the number of rotation block.Analyzed the bearing capacity of externally pre-stressed beam,and the results indicated that there is a certain error between the results of code and program, it was mainly because the material nonlinear was not considered to the results of code.Compared to the nonlinear results of three beams which is the simple beam non-reinforced, the simple beam of the externally pre-stressed and the simple beam with a joint of the externally pre-stressed: the reversed arch and pre-pressure in the lower margin in the middle of span of the reinforced beam with a joint is larger than the same location of the simple beam of the externally pre-stressed; The cracking load of the reinforced beam with a joint, the simple beam of the non-reinforced and the reinforced beam with no joint increased in turn; The ultimate load of the simple beam of non-reinforced, the reinforced beam with a joint and the reinforced beam increased in turn.
