The prominent features of red clay are high water content, void ratio and plasticity, fine colloidal chemical properties. It has high carrying capacity and low compressibility with high water content and void ratio, so it is a fine building foundation. The characteristics of the mechanical properties are high shear strength and cohesion, low compressibility. Though red clay has low dilatability, it has some extent contractibility. Traditional approaches such as replacement, tamping, groundwater divert etc. do not work well for specific reasons.New approach adopts multiple materials to denature red clay. This approach takes full advantages of admixtures, effectively improves the nature of works, physical and mechanical properties, has achieved good results. This paper quantitative analysis macro and micro experiments and SEM datum of denatured red clay by numerical analysis combined with MATLAB software, establishes the equation of damage variable and main strain. Following progresses are made: (1) analyzing micro experiments datum and quantitative studying structural elements by a variety effects of multiple materials, illustrating the control action between micro-structure denaturation and complex mechanical properties; (2) observing micro-structure changing with loading by CT experiment datum, interpret red clay's softening process before soil damage; (3) establishing red clay's damage evolution equations. These conclusionsprovide theoretical foundation for red clay's application.
