The asphalt variety and quantitative requirement increases day by day with world economics' rapid development, more and more high quality request also is proposed, and how to improve the performance of asphalt especially anti-aging properties of asphalt to comprehensively improve the quality of asphalt has been a concernjing focus of research and production. Modified research of Asphalt has been an important way to improve the performance of asphalt, the research area has been very active, near research mainly concentrates in three aspects: respectively polymer modified asphalt, to improve the low temperature embrittlement, high temperature flow and increase the durability of the use of asphalt, next the vulcanization modified process, to enhance its softening point, to reduce the penetration and the temperature susceptibility and has the anti-burning action; finally oxidation-modifying asphalt, to attain the widespread application at present. The asphalt oxidation is that vacuum residuum either the solvent escape-oil bitumen or their compound with low softening point, the penetration and high temperature susceptibility is passed over the air under certain temperature condition to change its composition, to elevatesthe softening point, to reduce the penetration and the temperature sensitivity and to achieve the asphalt specification target and the operational performance requests. Through changing raw material composition and the oxidized condition (temperature, time, ventilation), adjusting oxidation depths, the road asphalt, the building asphalt and other special-purpose asphalt and so on may be produced. And the asphalt oxidation divides into the non-catalyzed oxidation and the catalyzed oxidation. The catalyzed oxidation to the asphalt, comparing with the non-catalyzed oxidation, may raise the reaction rate greatly, reduce the oxidizing condition (for instance,may reduce oxidizing reaction time), improve the product quality, especially remarkable improve low temperature performance of the asphaltic products.Vacuum distillation were carried on with samples after the non-catalyzed oxidation and catalyzed oxidation, through the analysis, ductility of samples after the vacuum distillation maintains good. Then the routine analysis, the TFOT, viscosity-temperature analysis, four-component analysis and the PG analysis were carried on with four kinds of samples and raw material. The performance comparison indicated that the sample after non-catalyzed oxidation distillation has the bigger penetration comparision, and it may explain that it has good anti-aged performance.
