The technology of finite element model updating is an important method for exact model building of practical engineering structure. As the numerical analysis based on finite element is applied extensively in the design of the practical engineering structure, the demand of this technology becomes more and more urgent, in which the structural finite element model updating technology based on the data of frequency response function experiment has attracted extensive attention since 1990s and has become one of the main research directions in the field of present structure dynamics.Focusing on the subject of structure finite element mode, researching developments of the related fields at home and abroad were summarized in detail in this paper, including the fields of structure theory & model building, theory & test model correlate analysis, dynamic reduction, the structure finite element model updating technology based on frequency response function and quadric exploit of patran, etc.According to the engineering demand of this paper, two kinds of structure finite element model updating matrix methods based on the data of frequency response function experiment were presented, one of which is matrix integrated updating method, and the other is cell matrix updating method. Certain practical improvements were also made in accordance with the practical needs, which made them more convenient to be applied in the actual engineering problems. In addition, artificial analysis was carried out to these algorithms respectively, using spring quality unit structure and beam structure model.The design question of connect and procedure about the finite element model revision practical essential technology and the existing large-scale commercial finite element analysis software have been studied. Introducing quadric exploit language PCL basing on Patran, and formidable matrix operated exploit development language DMAP function as well as application method basing on Nastran, we have designed the algorithm programming of the matrix method which revises by the frequency response function trial data based on DMAP and C language, and carried on finite element model revision module development under the Patran platform based on PCL.In view of some missile assembled cabin structure, we have obtained the trial data of frequency response function by carrying on the ground vibration test. We put up the finite element modeling of this structure, basing on this data, and obtain the finite element model revision by using the operated application software in this article. The revised result indicates that the algorithm and software of this article have the certain practical value.
