Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a kind of high performance concrete (HPC) that can consolidate under its own weight without any vibration. The SCC has the following advantages in the field of engineering. SCC construction significantly reduces the noise pollution, worker's labor intensity, and rough surface or segregation induced by insufficient vibration or over vibration in conventional construction. SCC construction resolves the problem of poor construction quality initiated by insufficient vibration in the sections with complex shapes and densely distributed steel bars. At the same time, large amounts of mineral admixtures such as fly ash and blast furnace slag are utilized in the preparation of SCC. So SCC with the fame "green concrete" helps to use the resources rationally and protect the environments. At present, the study of SCC focuses on the aspect of material performance, such as the improvement of the mix ratio and the testing method of workability properties. However the study of mechanical property and members of reinforced concrete about SCC is less comparatively. Therefore this paper analyzes a great deal of new literatures and dissertations of SCC and obtains the mix ratio of SCC through experimental modulating. On the basis of the mix ratio of SCC, a systematic study on mechanical property and members of reinforced concrete is carried out.Compression strength experiment, splitting strength experiment, and the bearing capacity of SCC flexural members experiment are performed in this paper. Through the comparison between SCC and ordinary concrete about mechanical property and testing beams, this paper obtain the relationship between compression strength and splitting strength, the formula of elastic module, Poisson ratio, peak strain and utmost strain, a unified numerical expression of the compressive stress-strain curve, and the formulas of stiffness and cracks of the SCC beam etc. At the same time the correctness of the assumption of the strain in line on section is testified, and on the basis of it the formula of calculating the ultimate bearing capacity of SCC beams is proposed. These conclusions will provide references for establishing related regulations of SCC structure with academic and practical significance.
