Magnetic Flux-leakage(MFL) inspection technology is used most widely and has the longest history in all of principles of pipe in-line inspection. The MFL data of pipeline inspection should be processed by special data analysis system for obtaining the corroded information about pipe wall, which can be regarded as the main reference for digging and maintaining pipeline. The schedule and final quality of MFL Inspection are badly affected by the velocity, correctness and veracity of MFL data processing. Several images display, analysis automatically and quickly of MFL Data are mainly researched in this dissertation, and the Analysis Expert System is designed and developed.Firstly, the methods and signification of pipe in-line inspection, the working principle of MFL inspection equipment and functions of its main parts, the prime content of MFL Data Analysis Expert System are introduced simply in this dissertation. Because of largeness of MFL data, its arrangement format is studied. Three assumed buffer and multithreading technology is adopted for improving speed of data reading and displaying. Based on the correlation between amplitude changing of MFL signals and changing of curve, grey scale, color etc., the processing methods of several image display are researched. The mean of MFL data repairing is put forward, founded on the reason of off-normal signals generated. Then the recognition technique of kinds of pipe characteristics is designed by the corresponding relationship of MFL signals and characteristics of pipe. By the special experienced formula, the quantification measurement of defect is calculated. The failure evaluation plot is obtained finally rely on the standard evaluation functions, the given parameter of pipe and defect measurement.At last, the expert system of MFL signal analysis and user report is summarized in this dissertation. The requirement of MFL data analysis is filled in both performance and operation by adopted new data structure and database design. The inspection reports is exported and printed automatically with list and graph by the report system, so visual expression is provided for user..
