Faraday cup, Resistive Wall Monitor, B-Dot and Rogowski Coil are the common diagnostic techniques to measure beam parameters. Resistive Wall Monitor and Rogowski Coil are used quite widely because of their simple structure and on-line characteristic. Compared with Resistive Wall Monitor, Rogowski Coil has the advantages in several respects: capability of measuring large currents, good response in high frequency and inexpensive. This paper proposed the way of using Rogowski Coil to diagnose the intensity of a radial electronic beam which is eradiated by a high-power microwave device.Firstly, this paper introduced the basic structure and equivalent circuit of Rogowski coil, brought forward the principle of measuring radial beam current using Rogowski coil, analyzed the frequency response and transient characteristics of Rogowski coil, and then explained the design steps and matters that need special attention in detail. Based on these, two self- integral Rogowski coils had been fabricated for diagnosing radial electronic beam after they had been calibrated by a standard pulse current source. The experimental results showed that: the diagnostic system had a good frequency response characteristic and accuracy which can meet the requirements of nanosecond beam measurement. Therefore, it can be used for measuring the intensity of a radial electronic beam eradiated by high-power microwave devices.
