Because more and more high and super high buildings are being built, people begin toexplore the underground space. Therefore, not only more deep foundation pits will be constructed,but they will be much larger and deeper. However, the fact is that many pits have to be constructedin narrow and unfavorable areas. The problem we are facing is how to reduce the bad effect to thenearby buildings, roads and public facilities when digging the pits. Thus, the theory and methodsof controlling the effect to the environment when digging the deep foundation pits should be paymore attention to.Earth subsidence and movement caused by digging deep foundation pits will badly effectthe surrounding buildings. The application of present theory of deep foundation design (i.e.strengthen control design) and regular constructing technique can by no means protect thesurrounding environment. Many experts and technicians have made a lot of research on deepfoundation pit design. In this paper, the author has analyzed the supporting structure design,constructing technique and requirement of the anchor supporting pile combined with deepconcrete mixing pile in waterstop curtain engineering in the coal unloading trench of Yongji heatand power plant, which is located close to a main railroad. On basis of the observation of railwayroadbed subsidence, the author has also analyzed the factors affecting roadbed subsidence underthe condition of timely grouting and waterstop curtain, and how the surrounding buildings will beaffected by the distance between the subsidence observation point and the edge of the foundationpit, the distribution of supporting piles, time effect, movement load.
