Load model is one of the four models in power system, it plays an important role in safe and stable operation of power systems. As the number of measured data grows up, it became more and more difficult to build load model. Whether some law hide below the disorganized load model data and whether it is possible to categorize the load model data from the aspect of nature attributes, and then building the load models on the result after grouping the data. Such of these questions are not answered. This paper takes the step response of the load model and the parameters of the load model as the Eigenvector which is used to categories the load model data under the guidance of variance analysis indicators. After the analysis of the category result, the step response of the load model was determined as the method to categorize the load model data. Some characteristic which reflects the law hiding in the data was discovered after the classification based on the method. This paper also discusses the influence of the structure and parameters of load model to the classification.
