Transformers with neutral grounding will partially be saturated when under Geomagnetic Induced Currents or single ground electrode operation of HVDC, this phenomenon has been widely paid attention. DC bias on transformer may cause series of effects such as increasing of vibration, noise, temperature and reactive power. Aimed to the phenomenon caused by DC bias on transformer, this paper analyzes the reasons and characters of vibration and noise increase by DC bias uses the principle of DC bias and transformer vibration. Estimate the condition of transformer by analyzing the amplitude and spectrum characteristics of vibration and noise signal, especially affected by DC bias. Calculations and simulations are made about the vibration of transformer cores and windings. A method of transformer vibration and noise monitoring of DC bias is given, and a vibration and noise monitoring project based on DC bias monitoring equipment is put forward. Experiment results show that monitoring method and technical project given by this paper is feasible.
