With the development of the national economy, the vehicle market grows steadily and the quantity of private vehicles increases rapidly annually in China. But in the meantime, the number of automobile stolen is so great that it has become a worldwide public hazard. So how to develop an effective vehicle security alarm system with high reliability constitutes our most urgent problem.Based on the analysis of the researches on vehicle security alarm system at home and abroad, this paper developed a novel vehicle security alarm system which was made to analyze and recognize vehicle theft behavior by human-centered thinking mode in order to overcome the drawbacks shown by current system. The paper introduced the omni-directional vibration sensor to achieve omni-directional vibration sensing and omni-directional vibration visualization, and attempted to utilize dynamic image understanding technology combined with vibration analysis technology to achieve the digital computation and analysis of the vibration's semantics in the video sequences to implement vehicle theft behavior recognition.The main work and the results are summarized as follows:1. Design the vehicle security alarm system which was made to analyze and recognize vehicle theft behavior by human-centered thinking mode. This system achieved the understanding of the omni-directional vibration by analyzing the vibration properties in image sequences, and then recognized the vehicle theft behavior by analyzing the detected vibration.2. Design the omni-directional vibration sensor based on omni-directional vision sensor, which was used to realize omni-directional vibration sensing, omni-directional vibration visualization, omni-directional area surveillance, and share the information captured by sensors based on dynamic image understanding technology.3. Develop a threshold segmentation algorithm using the entropy of histogram based on color difference to implement of omni-directional vibration detection based on the comparison with direct detection algorithm and background subtraction detection algorithm while analyze the vibration locus and motion rule by detecting and tracing the vibration object in dynamic image sequences. 4. Implement of intelligent omni-directional vibration analysis with vibration analysis technology, the system analyzed the vibration information, including vibration amplitude, vibration displacement and computed the specialty of outside force such as force direction and force strength. And it achieved vehicle theft behavior recognition by analyzing and computing the vibration information and force characteristic mentioned before.5. Furthermore, an experiment based on the prototype developed is given to test the sensitivity and performance of the omni-directional vibration sensor which was proposed with different conditions used in the vehicle security alarm field and experimental data are reported while good agreement is found with the proposed theory.Although this paper has done some basic research on brand new vehicle security alarm system based on omni-directional vibration sensor and dynamic image understanding technology, there is still a certain distance to the practical application. But in the future, with much work carried out in interrelated field, the proposed vehicle security alarm system will be implemented to make the owner reassured, the thief scared and the vehicle quiet.
