Shield tunnel is a primary type of the modern metropolitan underground engineering. Therefore the research on its seismic security is very important. The main research work of this paper focuses on the application of dynamic finite element method to the seismic response analysis of subways tunnel structures, which could be summarized as the following aspects:1 The significance of current study situation as well as existing methods of seismic analysis of shield tunnel are briefly summarized. Then the main studies done in this paper is pointed out.2 The redeveloping skills of simulating transmitting boundary with ANSYS are expounded mainly. Also, this skill is applied to analyze seismic response of subway tunnels. The influence of such factors as the characteristics of the input ground motion, the cross-sections and embedded depth on the seismic response of circular tunnels is discussed.3 The influence of relative stiffness of surrounding rock and soil on the seismic response of circular tunnels is analyzed with the conception of flexibility ratio. The result shows that the seismic response of tunnels decreases as the flexibility ratio increases. Also, the result is fitted to obtain the function form of the relation of internal force of tunnel lining with the flexibility ratio, which could be refereed in seismic analysis and design of buried circular tunnels. At last, the paper summarized the whole contents, and put forward the further contents that would to be researched.
