As a new method, fractal theory has its own advantages in the field of nonlinear. It is the study of nonlinear systems in irregular geometric shape. Since the 1980s, the fractal theory has been created, and it has a wide application in the natural sciences and social sciences fields up to now.The traditional research about surface contact is mostly based on the Hertz contact theory. It makes that there is a big error on calculating the contact area, and the measure instrument's resolving power affects the expression of rough surface. It makes the results unsteady. But the fractal theory can solve these problems easily. So the contact gears will be studied in this article, and the fractal model of contact gears will be established. The following key elements: a) Introduced fractal theory and the basic situation and summed up the M-B contact model's relevant formulas. b) The contact model of gears will be founded through adoption of gears contact coefficient, c) The Matlab software will be used in this article for verifying the model in the theory field, d) The contact stress of the same gears will be calculated by using ANSYS, the Hertz contact theory and the fractal contact model established in this article, and the result will be compared with the experimental data.This article results: the gears contact model with the fractal theory is established based on the M-B fractal contact model, and is verified in the following. It has been verified corrective and effective that the research on the gear face contact with fractal theory.
