With the development of science and technology, the precision control of flow rate and velocity is demanded in more and more fields, such as the test and analysis of microchemistrical elements in chemical-industry field and the blood transfusion, anaesthesia injection, antibiotics transfusion and anodyne injection in medical care field. The syringe pump controlled by microprocessor has the invariable pressure and complete data displayed, so it needs to be precision controlled the flow rate and velocity; it also needs to keep the transfusion for twenty-four hours and ensure the effective concentration of drugs in order to lessen the side-effect and complicating diseases; it can alarm the nurse to treat when the transfusion finishes.In this paper, according to the designing performance parameters, the two-phase-mixed style step motor (39HZM2410) as the power source, the main-control chip (TMS320LF2407A) and the control method are presented. For the control policy, the subdivision control technique, which drives the step motor by current-tracking PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) techniques, is composed of overcurrent and overvoltage protection module, real-time liquid crystal displaying module and accident alarming modules. The software is emphasized on the control algorithm and its realization procession, which is programmed by C language. Compared with the syringe pump in the current market, the designed programmable syringe pump can custom the transfusion rate and time in many stages; it has two displaying format: program menu and coordinate mode; it can store 20 groups of transfusion program, which can be modified by the user. A new display format, the coordinate mode, is presented and its corresponding hardware controller is designed. The coordinate mode is simple for all the transfusion procession and lessens the probability of mistakes for the medical staff in the tensional and high repeatability working-environments.The designed programmable syringe pump with the scale from 0.1ml/h to 900ml/h can fulfill the medical demand. Every functional modules, including drug transfusion module, real-time liquid crystal displaying module and accident alarming modules are tested successfully and the results achieved the design demand.The designed programmable syringe pump in this paper has come into experiment stage, had good effectiveness and fulfilled the design demand.
