Basing on the application of the special-shaped column and SRC special-shaped column, combining the merits of the steel and concrete structure, a new structure form - the structure of steel and concrete composite special-shaped column came into being.Steel and concrete composite special-shaped columns structure has much evident superiority. The width is equal between column and in filled wall. This makes better use of available space, and improves the esthetic appearance of structure. Especially it can overcome the weakness of reinforced concrete special-shaped columns, such as bearing capacity is insufficient, seismic performance is poor, and axial compression ratio is too low, at the same time it can overcome the problem of difficult construction on SRC special-shaped columns. In order to extend special-shaped columns' suitable scope, and can be adopted in high-rise buildings and the construction in high seismic fortification zone Researching steel and concrete composite special-shaped columns is very necessary.So seismic evaluation of three 1/3 scaled model of one span and one-story frames of T section special-shaped column were performed by the pseudo-dynamic and pseudo-static test. One was reinforced concrete frame of T section special-shaped columns and the other two were steel and concrete composite frame of T section special-shaped columns. By the experiments the dynamic responses, the bearing capacity, the characteristics of failure and recovered forces, the energy consuming behavior of the structure were studied and contrasted.The experiment and the analysis show that comparing with common special shaped columns the steel and concrete composite frame of T section special shaped columns have perfect work behaviors as a whole. Its bearing capacity ,ductility and energy consuming behavior are also excellent. Even in the case of higher axial compression ratio, it also have a good seismic behavior.
