Fiber-reinforced plates (FRP) have been increasingly used in strengthening field due to its high performance to technology, society and ecology .In recent years, with the decrease of CFRP cost, CFRP has been widely used in architecture structure, tunnel, bridge engineering and so on.It is summarized in this paper that the technical specification for concrete structures strengthened with carbon fiber and the moment-curvature relationship; On the basis of the theoretical analysis for steel column concrete, it analyzed the axis center stress component strengthened with CFRP, proposed the bearing capacities of the strengthened column. It analyzed the properties of earthquake resistance, ductility of the strengthened column.To make good use of this new material and the strengthened column, on this paper, it utilizes ANSYS, a finite element analysis program and the test results to compare their inaccuracy, it analyzed the axial load bearing capacity relative displacement response, ductile-property at failure and the displacement on the top. It carried out different strengthen method for different components.Each kind of strengthening method has two sides, facing with actual engineering, an suitable method should be adopted. Before caculation the bearing capacity, it should be made sure the decrease of ductility and the possibility of other failure modes.
