Matrix Converter is a kind of dierct AC-AC power electronic converter. Its advantages over the traditional pulse width moudlation converters lie in the capability to bi-directional power flow, nearly sinusoidal input/output waveforms and a controllable input power factor. Using matrix converter in adjustable speed drives (ASDs) could achieve high Performance as well as to meet the electromagnetic interference requirement. Therefore matrix converter fed motor drive systems has high potency in the next geneartion of ASDs.The equivalent structure of the AC-DC-AC conversion is analyzed. Then the AC-AC direct transformation control rule of matrix converter is deduced by adopting the dual space vector control strategy of MC,which is combined output line voltage space vector plus width modulation(SVPWM) and input phase current space vector modulation. The duty expressions of MC have been derived by the method of separate modulation and then combination of input current vector and output voltage vector. The Matlab simulation model of main circuit and control circuit was designed based on SVM,and was simulated by asynchronism motor,at the same time, the performance of output and input was analyzed. The hardware experiment plat of matrix converter control system is build based on DSP.The main circuit consists of nine bi-directional switches,There are two IGBTs and two diodes in every bi-directional switch. The four-step commutation is introduced to achieve security commutation between switches.Last, through theoretical analysis, computer simulation and experimental investigation, some valuable experiences and significant conclusions are obtained, which have referenced significance to further studies.
