As composite constructions, the concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns are formed by infilling concrete thin-wall steel tubes. By dint of steel tube's restrictions, the interior concrete lies in press conditions in three principal axes directions, which delays lengthways cracks' developments. Consequently the interior concrete takes on preferable compressive strength and great compression deformation capabilities. In virtue of larger carrying capacity, lesser in sectional dimension, lighter in weight, higher ductility, shockproof, fatigue resistivity, saving in material and convenient construction etc. CFST has been extensively used in building structure such as one-layer and multi-layer factory building, various bracket, super high-rise buildings and bigger span length bridge constructions.The concrete-filled steel tubular column with two main elements was first adopted at steel structure workshop in the third phase of Baosteel engineering. The column is composed of two main concrete-filled steel tubes connected by diagonals and single-web shoulderbeam welded with two steel tubes. However, there are many problems such as damages of bolts, failures of column-and-braces, replacement sole plates on the top of columns and so on, which heavily affect the producing at workshop.The paper researches on steel structure workshops of Baosteel engineering in the third phase, and surveys the connecting construction between concrete-filled steel tubular column and crane beam at steel structure workshop of Baosteel engineering, then analyses causes conducing to disabled members. In the end of the paper, reinforcement design is given, which can provide reference for improving industrial factory design from now on.
