With the development of the precision guided weapons, the requirement oninformation processing techniques for precision guidance is becoming higher andhigher. TV-guided weapon is one of the precision guided weapons which are usedin the war widely. TV-guided weapon is based on image processing, automaticcontrol and information science. It extracts the location information of missileimage from TV image, and guides the missile to attack the target.In this paper, TV-guided target tracking system of sky to ground trainingbomb is studied. The hardware platform of the target tracking system is designedbased on the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and the CPLD (ComplexProgrammable Logic Device). Combining the characteristic of the developmentof target tracking system and the need of the target tracking system of trainingbomb, the main idea of designing the hardware system of TV-guided targettracking system of training bomb is described detailedly. After analysis and styleselection of DSP, the whole scheme and hardware circuits based onTMS320DM642 are designed. TMS320DM642 is used to deal with the data whileCPLD is responsible for controlling the logic function mainly. The DSP and theCPLD are designed on the same circuit diagram to realize the function ofintegrated target tracking system. In this way the two processors can take fulladvantage of their own characteristic. The systematic structure and designprinciple of every function module are elaborated and the hardware circuitdiagrams are given. In the system, power module, extended memory module,video input/output module, debugging module, CPLD circuit module and thestandard UART communication circuit module are included. The problems ofanti-jamming in realization of high frequency circuit are studied and the solutionsare given. In the integrated environment of CCS, bottom driver programs for thesystem are developed. The design and debugging of the video capture and displayprogram are completed.The result approves that the target tracking system based on TMS320DM642has small bulk, uses low power and satisfies real-time tracking requirement.
