In order to eliminate the disadvantage and maintain the advantage in structure of the flat plate solar collector, a new type of flat plate collector must be developed.It is effective to improve the performance of the collector using heat pipe which has lots of advantages in practice. Theoretical and experimental analysis is conducted on the self-made flat plate collector with heat pipe. The experimental analysis includes instantaneous efficiency, average heat efficiency and heat loss coefficiency of the flat plate solar water system with heat pipe (abbreviated as FPSWSHP).We also analysed the effect of the dust on FPSWSHP and the solar water system of glass vacuum tube.The result of the test indicates that the average heat efficiency is about 36%.Using TRNSYS, this paper simulated and analysed the effect of the collector's azimuth and slope on the tilted surface's radation, so the optimal azimuth and slope of the collector used in Tianjin are determined which are 0°and 40°. An optimization of the natural circulation solar system and forced circulation solar system was made by simulating the efficiency of the two system with different collector's area, tank's cubage and pump's flux. In the end, this paper calculate the benefit of the optimal solar water system, the result showed that the solar hot water system can bring great economic and environmental benefit.
