| In this paper, in the light of the characteristic of combination beam which strengthened by structural steel, two composite beam models were made and tested based on a construction project. Research was focused on the behavior of composite beams under positive and negative moment with full shear connection. Fail style and ultimate loading capacity of the composite beams were discussed.A new method of calculating the capacity of bearing bending is proposed through theoretical analysis based on properties of composite beams. Because this method is difficulted for manual computation, a FORTRAN program was compiled. The result which calculated according to the theory proposed in the chapter agrees well with the test result.Additional, after examine the FEM model of the test model is feasible, a FEM model of the strengthened frame beams in Xinchun building was made. The numerical result shows that the section of composite beam near column is the worst section where the concrete in tension and structural steel in compression.Research achivements proposed in this paper have been applied to the design and construction of xinchun building. Building practice shows that the experimental study and design scheme are suitable and reliable. The study results may serve as referenc for similar engeering project. |
