As the problems of energy and environment are becoming increasingly serious, Electric Vehicle (EV) has become one kind of fast-developing vehicles. At present, the principal question restrainting the development of EV is energy, which need to replaces the gasoline of traction batteries. In addition to improving the performance of traction batteries, it is necessary to develop an efficient, low-consumption charger for the application and development of EV.This thesis aims to design a low-volume, light-weight intelligent charger which is appropriate for different kinds of batteries. Firstly, a simple introduction concerning the common transaction batteries and general charging methods is given, followed by an overall design of the system.Secondly, to achieve the goal of minishing the volume, the thesis makes research on the high frequency control method. After comparing several topologies and control methods, the Full-bridge Phase-shifted Zero Voltage Switching control is chosen as the control strategy eventually. And the thesis makes in-depth research on the above control strategy with analyzing its problems. After comparing many solving methods, at last, two simple solving methods are chosen, and the methods mentioned before are validated in virtue of Simulink Emulator tools.Subsequently, the concrete design of the intelligent charger is presented, including two parts: the main loop and the controller mainboard.Finally, the thesis analyze the experimental results. The intelligent charger is valuable in practical applications, and accumulates considerable experience for further study.
