Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) is a key digital equipment of the reverse engineering. This thesis makes some research work on the 3D surveying and mapping system that how to accurately and effectively obtain the complex 3D surface data and how to transform the data into high-quality computer 3D digital model quickly.Establish automated workflow by analyzing the structure of CMM and use PLC to develop the data acquisition control systems, including grating pulse counting module, stepper motor motion control module, data communication module .Putting forward the model construct strategy that create curve by the measurement points and build the surface triangulation by the curve to ensure that the mapping modeling real-time performance. From the orderly measure points characteristic, design triangle mesh generation algorithm to reconstruct mesh surface. Use B-spline to achieve the reconstruction of curves. In order to improve the measurement accuracy and efficiency of CMM, present monitoring mechanisms and modeling strategies based on the graphical feedback and bring up a measurement method that modeling while measuring in the measurement process. In order to embody flexible and open better, fulfill the communication between the system and other CAD systems by STL data format.Besides, in-depth analysis the 3D geometric in the course of researching, such as the data structure and expression, views display and operate mutual, doing some basis job for the next development.Solve the problem that how to mapping the free surface in the experiments by this system. In order to fill up the vice and insufficiency, develop the system to accord with the teaching habit.
