The Research On Protective Urban Design Of History Block

With thousands years long civilized history, China has accumulated rich cultural traditions, and there are many cities which preserve rich historical cultural heritages. Unfortunately, more and more good historical blocks are being destructed on the impingement of the modern urban civilization, together with the dying of the local characters and cultural traditions . It is especially important for us to balance the relation between the protection and renewal of those blocks, in order to maintain the humanity characters of historical culture and improve the spatial environmental quality.From the angle of urban design, on the basis of analyzing relevant concepts as well as the domestic and foreign researches, this article concludes the urban design's meaning for the protection and renewal of historical block, and tries to apply the urban design method to the research of the protection and the renewal of history block, formulate aim and value orientation of the protective urban design. The article takes the space of the historical blocks as the research object, and formulates the strategic frame of the protective urban design on the basis of studying the spatial and humanity environment of the historical block.The frame is composed of three parts: the extension of the spatial order, the building of spatial place and the control of landscape style and feature. Firstly, the extension of the spatial order is composed of three parts: the understanding of the spatial construction, the organizing of the alleyway traffic and the extension of the spatial texture. Secondly, in the parts of the building of the spatial places, this article firstly studies the method of the space building through three aspects including space style, alleyway and connection space, and yard space, then discusses the extension of both the relevant parts and the yardstick of the humanity from the systemic perspective. Finally, this article analyze the control of the landscape style and features through such aspects as the construction style, the height of construction, the quality and color of the stuff, the profile of the alleyway and traditional symbol. The aim of the construct of the urban design is to rich the contents of the protection and renewal of the historical block, to resolve the actual problems faced by the historical block and restore its vitality from the space perspective.At the end of this article, the author introduces the example of the urban design of the Block of Wujing, Ciping Town, Jinggangshan, and simulate the above said frame of the urban design with the help of this specific case.
