On the basis of concluding research results from seismic effect on the buildings at home and abroad, the paper completed the peak speed-frequency of regression, mechanical calculation, numerical simulation and grey correlation forecast work by using the blasting vibration test data of neighboring houses in open workings in a Hubei mine, and drew the following conclusions:1,By studying the rule of seismic effect on the buildings, the peak speed-frequency formula which full considers blasting vibration speed, frequency and the dynamic characteristics of structural was concluded, guiding security blasting;2,By using the dynamic analysis method of shear stress at the bottom, the blasting vibration's maximum tensile stress of the neighboring houses could be calculated. Corresponding to the gray seam strength, the conclusion whether the neighboring houses had been damaged could be accepted. This research method can avoid the subjective defects by using criterion, so the conclusion was more reasonable;3,By using ANSYS 10.0, it analyzed the course of time for the seismic effect of the neighboring houses. From the perspective of deformation effects, it forecast whether the blasting vibration would cause damage to the neighboring houses.4,It analyzed the factors of blasting vibration of the neighboring houses by the application of the theory of grey absolute correlation. It proposed the conclusions that the houses' own characteristics were more important than blasting conditions, and the housing height was particularly important. On the basis of Prediction of importance in the relevant factors, the control measures which could be used to reduce the seismic effect were proposed.
