| According to the problem which occurred in the design and construction of dams with asphalt concrete core that having been built in China in static triaxial test of asphalt concrete. The mechanical properties of asphalt concrete is studied further in this paper, in order to obtain the working principle of dams with asphalt concrete core. The mechanical properties have been obtained in different lab conditions, which can be used to calculate and analyze the engineering cases, so that the influence laws about mechanical properties in various lab conditions of static triaxial test, and the design of dams with asphalt concrete core and numerical calculation, could be studied which could be helpful for the construction and promotion of rockfill dams with asphalt concrete core.At first, the rockfill dams with asphalt concrete core is the thesis of this paper, the present situation of design and construction is introduced systematically, meanwhile, the development status of theoretical research about hydraulic asphalt concrete is analyzed and discussed.The mechanical properties of asphalt concrete is rather sensitive to temperature, test loading rate, shaping method of specimen, confining pressure, etc. Based on the extensive experiments to study of the static triaxial test have been done in different temperature, test loading rate, shaping method of specimen, confining pressure in this paper. The test results indicate that the stress-strain curve in static triaxial test of asphalt concrete, changes regularly with the temperature, test loading rate, and confining pressure, and the parameters of model concluded by Duncan-Chang Model. The results above basically proves the similitude law of the mechanical properties under low temperature and low velocity, or under high temperature and high velocity. A series of tests have been performed to confirm that a conversion formula must exist between temperature and test loading rate in the parameters of models. The main ideas are demonstrated particularly in this paper.Let Chongqing Guan Yindong project is an example in this paper. Based on the sufficient discussion about the effect factors of basic performance, construction performance, mechanical property, and constitutive model theory, the 2-D finite element analysis and numerical simulation are applied to select raw materials and the stress-strain state of asphalt concrete core in dam construction. According to the mechanical property from test results under the perennial mean temperature 17.4℃at dam site, the asphalt concrete material of core has been calculated and compared by the methods of nonlinear model and linear elastic model. The calculated results are reasonable and reliable, and have better practicability and reference value. |
