A numerical analysis was performed on temperature distribution of the outlet nozzles in main vessel of SCWR (supercritical water reactor), and that of coolant in the outlet nozzles, with the computational fluid dynamics software CFX. First, a thermal sleeve between the outlet nozzle and the main vessel was designed to avoid the temperature gradient the main vessel endured. Influence of the diameter and the length of the thermal sleeve on temperature gradient of itself was researched, so to optimize its structural parameters. Second, in case of the existence of the gap of the connection pipes between the vessel and the barrel, an orifice-plate was designed behind the gap and inside the connection pipe in vessel to avoid the temperature gradient caused by the leak flow in the gap. Also, influence of the diameter and the thickness of the orifice-plate on temperature gradient of itself was researched, so to optimize its structural parameters.
