Analysis and assessment of rock slope stability is an important question which is not avoid in road construction. Therefore, the stability of rock slopes in ZhaMo road of Tibet was analyzed and assessed, where the methods of engineering geology, rock mechanics and analysia of many factors etc, were used to make the detail analysis and research in this paper.Based on the research of physical geography and engineering geologic conditions in ZhaMo road of Tibet, the influence factors of rock slope were analyzed, and the results show that the slope height and angle, hydro geological condition and earthquake were the most important influence factors to slope stability. Then the rock mass quality grades were given by using the method of CSMR to the 28 typical rock slopes which are inquisitional, and concluded that theâ…¢degree named local stability was the most available type in this area. According to rock characteristic, rock weathered degree, discontinuous structure characteristics and instance of deformation and failure, 5 types of slope deformation and failure were given which were collapse, parallel, wedge sliding, circular sliding and toppling failure, and the circular sliding was the most common one in this area, also these types`s failure mechanism and formation conditions were analyzed. At last , the author adopted the limit equilibrium method to account stability coefficient of the 28 rock slopes, and results show that poor stability in natural state, poor stability in natual state and seismic intensity ofâ…¨degree condition, critical stability in water-saturated state, and unstable in water-saturated state and seismic intensity ofâ…¨degree condition.This paper takes the K104+590~K105+700 (No.BP15) slope as main research object, then counting its natural situation stability coefficient was 1.170(Bishop) using the method of limit equity simulate, which meant the slope was in creeping slip station. And saturation state was 0.952(Bishop), meaning the slope was in unstable state. The simulation software was used to study the slope's displacement, stress and strain condition, which showed the mostly failure model was compression destruction from hilltop to slopebody, and shear out on the foot. At last, according to engineering geology characteristic of slop and the evaluation result of the stability, some suggestions of prevention and treatment measures of the slope were provided.
