With the lack of nature resources and the increase of desire for people to protect our environment, fuel cells play more and more role in people's life as green energy resources due to its advantages of high energy ratio, convenience and friendliness for environment. The PEMFC which use directly methanol as fuel is called DMFC. It is thought as a promising power source for various portable devices due to its simplicity, convenience and higher energy density of the system. And it is the best substitute of Lithium-ion battery.As the essential component of DMFC, MEA is composed of proton exchange membrane and electrode,and the single cell which is the basic unit of DMFC is composed of MEA and bipolar plate. The performance of fuel cell largely depends on the structure and making method of MEA. In this thesis, the electrochemical properties of DMFC under operating condition were studied by using electrochemical impedance spectra. The purpose of this thesis is to research the making method of MEA, assemble integrated single cell, ascertain the best working condition of DMFC. The goal is to provide a scientific basis and technological support for developing high-performance and low-cost DMFC.Firstly, the anode and the cathode with carbon paper and catalysts powder of Pt-Ru / C and Pt / C is made; secondly, the MEA is fabricated; Thirdly, the fuel cell is sealed and the current is taken out and a integral fuel cell is assembled; And finally, the performances are achieved when changing the working conditions and affecting factors on the performance of the cell are analyzed and the best working conditions of the cell, are also determined, which provides the foundation for improving the performance of the cell.
