Abstract/Summary:
The Macpherson suspension system has many characteristics, such as simple, compact structure, less space occupied ,excellent performance and so on, so it has rather reasonable kinematic features, which can guarantee the full vehicle's performance requirements. It is widely applied on the Front-wheel Driving vehicles and the mini-vehicles.This paper took Macpherson suspension system of some vehicle type as object, studied the dynamic characteristics and the fatigue-life of the suspension system via computer simulation. The main contents includes:(1)Completed the following experiments: the full vehicle mass,the fully-load mass, the gravity height, the measurement of stiffness and damping of spring-damper and tire.(2)Established the dynamic model of the MacPherson suspension system and simulated the behavior of the model under ADAMS/Car. Analyzed the front-wheel alignment parameters and some other important parameters,optimized the parameters which didn't meet the requirements of the suspension and the full vehicle design.(3)Established the rigid model of the Macpherson suspension system and the lower-arm's flexible model combined the 3D modeling software UG, the FEA software PATRAN/NASTRAN and the dynamic simulation software ADAMS/VIEW, then established the rigid-flexible coupling model of the Macpherson suspension system and successfully simulated its dynamic behavior.(4)Forecasted the fatigue-life with the fatigue-life analysis software MSC. Fatigue according the dynamic simulation results,selected the material according with the practical situation by comparison and analysis.(5)Studied the influence of surface prameters to the lower-arm's fatigue-life and the analyzing method and modifying factor to the lower-arm's fatigue-life simulation precision,then summed up some related conclusions.
