The electronic stability program is a new type of vehicle active safety system to improve handling and stability of vehicle.While cars are driven during turning on the road with low adhesion coefficient or in high speed,the lateral force of the tyre usually attained to the physical limit and the vehicle dynamics stability will be lost because of the exoteric disturbance or cornering so the traffic accidents frequently happen.ESP is an active safety device,which lets the vehicle run following the driver's intention to prevent vehicle from losing stability.Now,ESP is the international research focus in the vehicle active safety field.With development of electronic control techniques,ESP will be the standard device of modern vehicles on the coming corner.In recent years,ESP has been greatly developed in abroad and gradually equipped to the moderate and top class cars,while in China,the research in this field is at very beginning.So,to study ESP has great significance for our country and also has broad application prospect.The application on medium off-road vehicle of ESP is nearly blank,the paper has analyzed medium off-road vehicle's actuation performance characteristic and the ESP principle as well as the influencing factor,has made the analysis to the ESP application on medium off-road vehicle's feasibility,the application is advantageous in enhances the cross country and stability.Based on the co-simulation method with ADAMS/CAR and MATLAB/SIMULINK,the paper analyses the handling stability of the whole medium off-road vehicle,which is respectively controlled by fuzzy control method.Virtual prototype models furnished with fuzzy control method are established under the environment of ADAMS/CAR.The models implement the whole medium off-road vehicle stability control through controlling the brake torque of the four wheels.In addition,the controller models of the whole medium off-road vehicle simulations are done,and are set up using MATLAB/SIMULINK software.Based on SIMULINK platform,the mechanical model and controller are combined to compute operating model of a single lane and the step angle. The results show that the medium off-road vehicle performance with ESP is better than without ESP,concretely speaking,the tracing performance becomes better, the potential of running litter radius of turn is improved.Generally speaking ESP improve the performance of handing and stability and active safety,better than that of the uncontrolled medium off-road vehicle.The co-simulation method,where no complex dynamic equation and transfer function is needed,offers a new approach to control and simulate the complicated mechanism.At the same time,compared with the conventional means of design,it is much useful to assist designing,adjusting and testing via Virtual Prototype Technology.This means can highly enhance the efficiency of design,decrease the developing periods,cut down the cost of developing products and acquire the optimized integrated performance of the system.
