As the rapid development of construction in foundation facilities, the durability of reinforced concrete structure should be pay much more attention so that its structure system ought to be improved. The FRP material is widely used in civil engineering for its several advantages, such as high weight to strength and stiffness, fine durability and so on . Through the application of PVC-FRP composite material in the concrete structure, the paper mainly studies the mechanical behavior of PVC-FRP confined concrete under uniaxial compression.Firstly, the application of FRP material in civil engineering is oveviewed. In the section of test, according to the uniaxial compression experiments of 10 plain concrete short-columns confined by PVC-FRP tube and 2 plain concrete short-columns confined by PVC tube, it shows that the strength and ductility can be obviously improved with PVC-FRP concrete columns. Morever, the ultimate strength and ultimate strain increase with the decrease of the distance between CFRP band. The nonlinear FEM model of PVC-FRP concrete columns which is established based on the suitable constitutive relationship of the material tested and ANSYS software can be imitated in terms of the experiment data. Not only the mechanical behavior of PVC-FRP concrete columns but also the influence caused by the the distance between CFRP band and concrete strength level are deeply analyzed through the model. In conclusions, the higher the concrete strength level is, the less the confined effect is.In order to achieve further study, the calculation formulas of ultimate stress and ultimate strain of PVC-FRP concrete columns are put forwad through both linear regression and nonlinear ones. What's more, it is believed that the caculation results based on the stress-strain model raised in this paper and the test data are very similar.
