This paper analyse the stress and deformation tendency of the joint position of the insert mixed dam with the 3D calculate software FLAC3D based on the finite difference method .The structure model chose the Mohr Coulomb Model and elastic Model separately, using the transfer technology of AutoCAD→FLAC3D to build the three dimension geological model of the dam foundation. Here we use the interface element to simulate the mechanic Characteristic of the concrete wall and the clay core wall .The main work and conclusion is as followed:1. By introducing the mixed dam in and abroad ,draw a conclusion of the main shape and Characteristic of the mixed dam. Integrate the research and the development of this kind of dam, Inducing the main problem during the design and the run of the mixed dam.2. Introduced the basic concept and theory of FDM; Introduced the concept and catachrestic of 3D calculate software FLAC3D which is based on the FDM and still introduced the control equation of three models.3. Do a structure analysis of the joint position of the mixed dam of HuNan TuoKou hydro-power station. the analysis shows: under the completion stage,normal retaining level and the flood level, the max stress and the deformation are in the range of the design and the intensity of the material, the whole dam is safe and steady. There is no phenomenon of break at the joint position. It appears a 12.5m gliding deformation along the interface under the flood level and it is acceptable.4. By the numerical simulation of multi-methods of TUOKOU hydro-power station mixed dam, optimized the insert depth of the joint position. Compare with 95m insert depth of the original design, this paper designed 3 methods :90m,85m,80m.We draw a conclusion that through the analysis of these methods: when using the methods of 85m and 80m, It seriously endanger the safety of the dam. When choose the 90m design method, under the calculate condition we define here, the structure conforms to all the steady index of the dam .If this method is used in the practical project, it can improve the construction progress and reduce the Construction cost.
