The detection and analysis of sound/vibration signals has extensive appliance in industry, medical treatment, military affairs, machinery manufacture, aeronautics and astronautics. Conventional analog analyzers are slow in speed and large in size, the precision is easily affected by external temperature and time. They are not suitable for real-time study and analysis. Portable sound/vibration analyzer based on embedded system is playing a leading role for its small size, low power consumption, high precision and friendly man-machine interface. The dual-core embedded technology divides the system into two subsystems; each of them has their own data and program storage. Compared to traditional single-core system, it's faster and stronger in multitask operations. Furthermore, both hardware and software of such a system can be cut down. It fulfills the requirements of application systems on function, reliability, cost, size, power consumption and is perfect for the development of sound/vibration analyzer. This dissertation puts forward the design of embedded sound/vibration analyzer based on ARM+DSP dual-core system; implements the display and control module based on ARM and data collection and processing module based on DSP. The HPI device driver on embedded Linux OS is designed for the communication between ARM and DSP. The DSP EMIF Bootloader is developed for DSP to work without a simulator. All the circuit boards have been debugged and passed. The data collection and cooperative work of ARM and DSP have been implemented with help of bottom software. The standardized design method was taken into consideration so that the circuits can also be employed in other applications.
