CTCS Level 3 is an advanced train control system applied to high-speed Dedicated Passenger Lines in our country. To research on technical norms and key technologies of CTCS Level 3, and to develop the technical system of train control system of high-speed Dedicated Passenger Lines of our country, it is necessary to set up CTCS Level 3 simulation and test platform, which will provide a platform of aided design, research, development, validation and test, for design and research of systems and integration of equipments. Simulation and test manager is a key member of CTCS Level 3 simulation and test platform.Simulation and test platform is connected to simulation and test nodes of CTCS Level 3 simulation and test platform, such as train operation simulator, onboard equipment simulator, RBC simulator, train drive and movement simulation platform, CTC field equipment simulator, train control center simulator and interlocking simulator, etc. After beginning work, simulation and test manager first starts the server, and listens to the connecting request from simulation and test nodes. When a connection set up, simulation and test manager identifies the node and creates an interface for it. As all nodes participating simulation and test connected to, simulation and test manager synchronizes, initializes these nodes and configures network parameters for them. When completing the work before simulation, simulation and test manager starts the process of simulation and test as followed. During the process simulation and test manager monitors nodes and records some important information. Orders such as pause and stop are made by simulation and test manager as well. After simulation, some important recorded data is analyzed, and some simulation segments could be replayed by simulation and test manager.This paper analyzes the background and significance of research and development of CTCS Level 3 simulation and test platform and simulation and test manager, fully describes the framework and function of the simulation and test platform, designs and implements central functions of CTCS Level 3 simulation and test manager: identifying simulation and test nodes, synchronizing simulation and test nodes, initializing simulation and test nodes, configuring network parameter, controlling the simulation and test process, recording information, and analyzes the key technique used in the process of research and development----WinSock network programming and XML. The paper first ascertains the functional requirements of simulation and test managerand analysis these functions in detail; then designs simulation and test manager ingeneral, including functional modules, flow and interface; finally designs in detail,implements these functions. System debugging has been finished with some simulationand test nodes. The paper introduces advanced XML into simulation and test platformof train control system, to receive, send, display, record and analyze data, which isinnovative to a certain extent.
