The treatment of slopes is a difficult problem in highway construction for a long time. Recent years, with the rapid development of highway construction in China, slope stability problems breaks out more and more frequently. How to efficiently and effectively evaluate the degree of slope safety and how to make feasible prevention Countermeasures becomes a hotspot which catches engineers' more attention.This paper takes highway slope as study object, studies following problems of slope stability and reinforcement technique and defence technique through theoretics analysis and engineer practice.1) summarized the distribution and development characteristics of slope in Zhejiang province, which provides reference for the engineering design.2) Studied the fuzzy classification of the highway slope stability evaluation expert system, introduced the principles and methods of slope stability classification and evaluation. Further more, introduced the application of the method on the base of the Jin-Li-Wen highway.3) Studied the highway slope protection decision-making technology, Introduced the primary decision-making and multiple selection of highway slope, and the application of ecological retaining wall.4) For a highway slope which lies in Li-Long Highway, southwest Zhejiang province, use above theory and method to instruct the engineer, and analyse the monitoring results.
