Traffic information is the important foundation of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Along with Rapid development of Automatic Vehicle Locating technology, GIS and Internet technology, the method of floating-car system was widely used, especially the floating-car system based on GPS locating technology. This method resolve the problem exists in traditional methods, such as poor data quality, limited coverage area, etc. But the Raw data collected from GPS floating-car system are uncertain, and have noises. So, In order to improve the accuracy and credibility of the collected data, Data Fusion is needed. Meanwhile, a flood of GPS data contains a lot of information. How to get the valuable traffic information are the scholars concerned. The thesis is to study spread out under such background.At first, the thesis reviews the domestic and foreign research foundation and summarizes the technologies relating to vehicle location, Traffic information collection and Data fusion. Then transform the GPS raw data, import the data into database, and do further data preprocess and data fusion. The next step, we can provide reliable data foundation for data mining by eliminating noise data and unreasonable data.Based on data fusion, we do Parameter Analysis of collected GPS data, and analysize the features of taxi. At last, we analysize the preprocessed GPS data and do research on empty-Taxi phenomenon. The thesis systematically investigates the theories and methods of floating- car system based on taxi and provides technical support for its application in urban traffic.
