Deep excavation adjacent to the current subway tunnels are inevitable in the urban region with the continuous city development. Ensuring the construction quality and the construction progress of the foundation pit of the new subway station is very important in such complicated conditions. Moreover, the ground movement induced by the deep excavation should be controled in order to protect the adjacent buildings and the municipal facilities.Combined with the deep excavtion of the Jing'an Temple Station of Shanghai Rail Transit Line 7 and Yueyang Square, the influence of deep excavation on the foundation pit and the adjacent subway tunnels as well as the adjacent environment was studied in the dissertation. First, the three dimensional finite difference model was establised in order to simulate the deep excavation. Then, the deformation of the diaphragm wall and the adjacent subway tunnels as well as the ground settlement were analyzed when there was only one foundation pit. Finaly, the influence of different excavation scheme on the deforamtion of adjacent subway tunnels was discussed when there was a group of foundation pit. A preliminary analysis of superposition effect induced by adjacent foundation pits was also done.
