| BOM (Bill of Material) is the core data in systems of manufacuturing informationization. It is not only the information hinge of the CAD and CAM, but also the bridge across mostly all of the departments related to product lifecycle. In manufacturing enterprise, multidepartmental product data is usually in large amount and complicated forms, and it's difficult to build BOMs without unified criterion. The management of BOMs has a great effect on business activities around BOM.PDM technology with strong ability of data management provides an effective way to BOM management. In PDM systems, there are three most important BOMs: Engineering BOM, Process Planning BOM and Manufacturing BOM. To keep the three BOMs correct and consistent is the key point of BOM management.This paper has made research around the key issue as follows:1. BOM data model. Mono-tier BOM is chosen to be the mathematic description method of BOM modeling considering the aspects of performance and practical use. An improved algorithm is designed for mono-tier BOM to search effectively and efficiently.2. BOM multi-view mapping model.The method of formal modeling is used to define the nodes, their relationships, BOM and the operation methods. The change of nodes are analysed in detail during multi-view transformation.Transformation rules of five parts are thus presented respectively, which are defined as the successive parts, key parts, collaborating parts, virtual parts and intermediate parts. The formal multi-view mapping model of BOM is established through transforming into PPBOM from EBOM and MBOM from PPBOM.3. Maintenance management of BOM multi-view. Data in PDM system is kept consistent through pre-control and post-check. Interface files are developed to connect PDM system and other information systems. Engineering change management module is used to control data change. BOM's edition management is aimed to identify valid edition during the process of product development.4. Application. According to the theory and method presented in the paper, the PDM system Teamcenter Enterprise 4.0 was customized combined with the real situation of the enterprise. A type of product was applied to the system to realize multi-view transformation by building up views network. The data was exported with interface file and exchanged with CAD and ERP system.Thus, PDM system became an integrated platform of product data.The application of BOM multi-view transformation model greatly enhance the ability of data management, keep BOM's data correct and consistent , widen the extent of data share and reduce repeated work for technicians.Thus, the period of product development is shorten and the manufacturing enterprise's marketing competency is raised. |
