The contribution of high-speed railway and passenger high-speed orientation is a milestone for railway technology in our country. And it also becomes the main direction of railway technology development all over the world. According to the needs of development and programming of railway passenger line, the railway department speeds up the process of equipment modernization. Due to that, many types of multiple units are introduced.Nowadays, the coding architecture of the parts and malfunction of the multiple units is self-governed in different country. And there is no uniform criterion of the information coding system of the carriage in our country now. Due to the multiple units come from different country, the structure, material and principle of main system of the multiple units are different. While in the same working condition, the repair cycle and the malfunction probability of the parts of different multiple units are different. Due to the problems abovementioned, we need to create a series of information coding criterion to adapt for the basic demand of the repair class and repair system of our country.Based of the whole analysis of the aspects of the estimate for the repair class and repair system, and the basic coding theory, this research set up the uniform coding criterion for multiple units parts and malfunction information. And on the base of the research in the composing of parts and malfunction coding, transition rule reasoning mechanism is set up, and the aptitude batch transition from primal coding to normal coding between different countries. At the same time, according to the develop demand of the railway digitization and inforrnationization, multiple units malfunction information standardization coding system is set up. This system can register the current state, run record and repair register of every part in every train, so it is the important information resource of the technology management and analysis.The high-speed train malfunction information standardization coding system is developed.The database is built on Oracle9i environment, and all of the implements use Microsoft VC++ 6.0 integration development environment on the Windows. It implements the function like coding inquirement, coding transition, database management and user management. Finally, it uses the data of three types multiple units which are running to validate the system's validity and practicability.
