The critical problem in the process of deep mine mining is creating an ideal mining environment. Although the development of mine cooling technology has a history of nearly 40 years in China, reliable, economical and practicable cooling system is always our hot pursuit. With the increase of mining depth, the detailed conditions have determined that we have to choose the cold media other than water.This thesis mainly focuses on the cooling effect and stability of the cooling system utilizing glycol solution as the cooling media, finally, reveals its advantages in relation to the other cooling system. The main characteristics of this thesis are as follows:1. Adopting the ORIGIN 6.0 software to fit the approximate calculation formula of the various physical properties of the glycol solution at different temperature and different volume fraction, including density,specific heat and dynamic viscosity.2. Programming a set of thermal dynamics analytical software for the cooling system by the Visual Basic programmer. Its major purpose is to analyze the stability of the cooling system, the temperature increase and the resistance loss along the cooling system; meanwhile, determine on the economical thickness of the insulating layer, display the calculation results dynamically and output the final results etc.3. In order to improve the accuracy of simulative calculation, firstly, this program automatically meshes the fluid pipe system in the process of calculating. Finite difference method is chose as the discrete method for the control equations. Then linear discrete method is applied to the boundary conditions of the outside temperature.4. Adopting the Tecplot software to process the final result directly. It provides the graphic form of the final result for us and it is much easier to comprehend.To test the accuracy of the program, we select a length of pipeline at random and simulate the flow and heat transfer process of the cooling system by Fluent software, then define the physical properties of the fluent by UDFs file. Comparing the final result calculated by the Fluent software with the result calculated by this program, we can get the conclusion that this program is much reliable.
