Horizontal Condenser is important equipment in refrigeration industry. The design of Horizontal Condenser has a few disadvantages just like long period, low degree of automatism and high expense of experiment etc. So the old methods could hardly meet the market need and development trend of high efficiency and complication. Supported by the item of Horizontal Condenser CAD System design, the author aimed at overcoming the disadvantages develops the Horizontal Condenser CAD system which includes thermodynamics design and the mechanical design subsystem. Based on the traditional design author calculates the effect of heat exchange theory for the Horizontal Condenser, analyzes the capability by Numerical Simulation method, has made the design more reasonable.Using unified modeling language and object-oriented technology, the author makes the requirement analysis; system analysis and system design for Horizontal Condenser CAD System and solves many problems which encountered in the development. Based on the platform of UG NX 3.0, with the VC++ 6.0 author develops this system.The System composes of the thermodynamics design and mechanical design subsystem. The thermodynamics design subsystem includes the design condition input, primary layout, result display and the result output four models, the thermodynamics design for the Horizontal Condenser can be completed by the subsystem, such as thermodynamics calculation, layout of the pipe and create the specification etc. The mechanical design subsystem includes structure design, intensity checkout, components parametric, automatic assembling and result output. Using the subsystem designer can complete the mechanical design, such as the design of part and two-dimension engineering drawings.In order to ensure the best performance of Horizontal Condenser, the author analyses and optimizes the capability by Numerical Simulation method. With the FLUENT software, the author analyses the flow field and gets the temperature velocity and press distribution and improves the structure and increased capability by the considering the result of analysis.This system has test ran in Dalian Refrigeration Company Limited. The running result indicates that this system can improve the design efficiency and quality of Horizontal Condenser. The system has good practicability and conveniences too.
