As science develops and popularizes, the advantages of nuclear technology increasingly emerge. The scope of its application becomes wider and wider, and it plays a more and more important role in national economy and social production. However, any coin has two sides. The environmental problem of radiation pollution brought by popularization and use of the nuclear technology is deteriorating day by day and has already become the main factor of restricting and limiting the development of nuclear technology. Also, it has attracted much attention of researchers, producer and users. It is a prerequisite for radiation protection designers to understand the distribution of the radiation dosage playground and it has implications for practices.Based on the principles of interaction between materials and rays, as well as the structure features of the level meter, the current paper designed an experiment of obstacle scattering radiation field to illustrate that the obstacle radiation field dosage of the scattering is mainly contributed by the scattering ray. In addition, according to the characteristics of radiation field around the industrial Level Meter, we conducted on-the-spot measurement for the air absorption rate of Level Meter in the radiation field. Finally, using MCNP large-scale Monte Carlo software, we set up the Level Meter space model, calculated the radiation dosage of the radiation according to theory. After that, we compared the results of theory and empirical experiment. We also explained the distribution of the radiation dosage, and finally revealed the distribution pattern of radiation dosage through the empirical measurement of simulation experiment and calculation of MCNP theory. Main research contents and obtained results are as follows:(1) According to the structure features of Level Meter, we designed the scattering obstacle experiment to reveal the main contribution of scattering ray to the field dosage of the scattering obstacle radiation;(2) According to the measurement of actual point, we obtained the distribution pattern of radiation dosage of Level Meter space: on the one side of the radiation source, there are unusual dosage districts in the fan-shaped level areas .This unusual distance increased as the activity of the source increased and it should be due to the influence of the scattering of material location on rays; The dosage is relatively small because of the material absorption on the one side of the detector;(3) We set up the Level Meter simulation model and applied the method of Monte Carlo to calculate the radiation dosage distribution of space around the Level Meter and the results showed that the deviation was lower than 20% from the actual measurement.(4) According to the result of this research,we surggested that radiation pretect design should eyes on the one side of the radiation source.
