Based on the experimental research,the fundamental mechanical and non-linear behavior of P.K block are analyzed and discussed with several theory and FEA method are used.Through the expertments of 48 compression specimens and 18 shear specimens, the failure pattern, the cracking resistant load, the ultimate load, the stress-strain curve, the elastic modulus, Poission's Ratio, the shear modulus and the failure pattern in shear test , shear strength are analyzed. Datas got from those experiments reveal that the P.K block is brittler than usual ones,and it has lower ultimate load under compression ,it's shear strength is close to the value which the code provide.The calculation formulas for compression strength and shear strength are regressed,also with the expressions of stress-strain curve, the elastic modulus, Poission's Ratio and the shear modulus.Design of masonry structure with P.K block can be benefitted from this research.Summing up the merits and demerits of P.K block,a vertical hole concrete block is brought out for a better fundamental mechanical quality with a precondition of preserving the old one's merit of energy saving and heat preservation. The calculation formulas for compression strength and shear strength are forwarded by the theroy method, those formulas show that the fundamental mechanical quality of the vertical hole concrete block is better than the old one.At last, the general non-linear FEA program ANSYS is used to simulate the test results and reapear test process of those blocks. By parameters alteration analysis, the effect of main fctors in the compressive strength and shear strength of those blocks are analyzed, and the distribution of stress of concrete block masonry under load is presented. The results of FEA show the weakness of the P.K block expressly,to the P.K block, this is a useful referrence for a future improvement, in addition, the results prove that the improved block mentioned in this paper is reasonable in some degree. The wel precision of results by non-linear finite elemnet method for concrete block masonry prove that ANSYS can be used on the masonry non-linear FEA.Design of masonry structure with P.K block can be benefitted from this research.
