The red clay is kind of high liquid limit clay (high plasticity index, large void ratio), its engineering property is very different with the common cohesive soil. At present, distributes the area in the red clay road engineering constructions and so on to construct the airport, to construct to move increases day by day, its project nature's research causes the engineering widely to take seriously. Therefore, the deep research of the red clay's function physical mechanics characteristic under the dynamic load (for example strong hang load) has the important meaning.Through many kinds of planed room, my paper study the red clay's physics characteristic,mechanics characteristic and other related problems which are operated by the static and dynamic load tests. First, use the he red clay original condition and the rebuilding condition separately to carry on the single axle solidifying compression test and the three axle shear test. Through the single axle solidifying compression test, research the red clay's consolidation deformation characteristic under the function of the static load, through the three axle shear test, studies the red clay's shearing strength characteristic.Then carries on the red clay compaction test, studies the red clay's compaction characteristic influencing factor. Had the material to indicate that strikes the work of resistance (compaction hammer's weight, compaction number of times), the earth moisture content, compactness, and the soil sample shearing strength have the very close relationship. Through the change of the soil sample's moisture content, the test obtains the soil sample reinforcement effect (compactness change), the best watery size as well as strikes the work of resistance the reasonable value.Finally use the dynamic three axle shear test to research impulsive load function under red clay mechanics and distortion characteristic. The experimental plan choice (encircles pressure) including the lateral restraining pressure the size, the impact number of times, the impacting energy to the red clay distortion and the intensity influence. Selective analysis impulsive load function earth intensity change (attenuation or improvement).
