This thesis researches NO.3 unit of Lai Cheng Power Station. It applies theory and experiment methods to explore the optimum operation project of unit under varying duty.According to the design data and the practical operation feature of the unit, the integrated experiment project can be established which includes some experiment items of shaft-packing leakage between high and intermediate pressure cylinder, setting pressure and sliding pressure operation and so on. By experimenting under different initial pressure which corresponds to the burden of 100%, 80%, 70% and 60%, the heat consumption rate of turbine under various operation work condition can be figured out. The two relational curves which between heat consumption rate and burden, together with heat consumption rate and initial pressure are obtained through calculation, then the optimum initial pressure can be located. According to the heat consumption rate-initial pressure curve the setting-sliding pressure curve in all burden range can be set, which can conduct operator on duty's operation and optimize operation.
