Up to now, the total mileage of rural road open to traffic in china has been 302.6 million km, which accounts for 87% of the total road length that is 348 million km. This has also played an irreplaceable role in to improve the living standards of ordinary people and promoting social development. Due to the comparatively small traffic volume and investment, and low constructing level, the principle of making full use of local materials to increase the categories of road construction materials and developing the application of industrial waste residue can effectively reduce the cost of building rural roads.According to The practical Research of Strontium Salt and Waste Residue in Rural Road (project code: 2006 318 814 31), a project in the Communications construction technonological project in West China of the Ministry of Communication, followed by the application of strontium residue in the road base of rural roads, this paper selects the mix materials of the cement strontium residue stability and broken stones and utilizes suspension dense and framework dense, which are the commonest and basic material structures to analyze unconfined compressive strength, splitting strength, compressive elastic modulus, water stability, dry-shrinkage property, and thermal contraction performance that are the pavement performance of the cement stabilized gravel sub-course mix materials. Therefore, this paper can find out various characteristics of the pavement performance with different mix materials, and identify the grade scope and mix proportion of cement strontium residue stability and broken stones. After testing, the road base construction process of cement strontium residue stability and broken stones is very simple and convenient without the use of any special equipment and device. It can also reduce the construction cost with sufficient labor force. In practice, for example in the west China's rural roads with small traffic volume, this method goes smoothly without any obvious structural damages. Strontium residue road can fully meet the traffic needs and realize the demands for rural social development. This paper will do the most to prove the success of utilization of strontium pavement in the road construction.
