| With the rapid development of the highway transportation in China, the numble of traffic accidents on highway has increased quickly while the mileage of highway is growing. Through analysis of the impact of various types of safety reasons, we knew that the most critical factor is the driver. In the various types of traffic accidents, the number of road traffic accidents which are caused by the motor vehicle drivers's errors and illegal operation is the most part in all, the proportion reaches at 80%~90%. Overspeed is the most important reason. According to statistics, every year the number of the accidents caused by overspeed is about one third in the total accidents, and in every accident the death rate is high and the economic loss is serious. So, the research on the design and application of the road speed control facilities, can radically reduces accidents caused by overspeed, effectively protects the traffic safety, and enhances the value of people's lives.Since the research on the road speed control facilities in China is later, and there isn't an indepth study about the speed-controlling mechanism and slowdown adaptive of them. At present many facilities which have been put into use have some disadvantage, such as the decelerational result is not ideal, and some even affect the normal passage of vehicles, which induce many new accidents and so on. In addition, there isn't any relevant standard about the design of the speed control facilities can be followed in China, the design methods used are in according to the experience or copy the abroad, the most of them lack the pertinence.This dissertation is supported by science and technology project of west traffic construction by Ministry of Communications "Forest Tourism Highway--Traffic safety Research on S203 Line of Inner Mongolia", from the traffic engineering facility design and the traffic safety design, the author has conducted the research on the speed-controlling mechanism, design method of the road speed control facilities, proposed the material design method of the typical speed control facilities, and conducted the real diagnosis research for the Inner Mongolian S203 line, which validated the design method of the speed control facilities in Two-lane Mountain Highway, also provided some base theories and design idea for the road administration department and the facility designing department.The concrete content that the dissertation has finished as follows:(1) The first chapter introduces domestic and foreign present research condition about the relation between speed and the traffic safety, road speed control facilities, elaborates the significance to study the design and appliance of the road speed control facilities, and determines the main research content for dissertation on this basis.(2)The second chapter firstly introduces the define of operating speed, design speed and expected speed which relevant to the traffic safety, and then analyzes the influence of speed on traffic accidents from two points of view, which are the impact mechanism and quantitative research of speed on traffic accidents, at the last proposes the influence of overspeed on the traffic safety in this chapter, which has established a basis for the following chapters.(3) The third chapter studies the speed-controlling mechanism of the speed control facilities. Firstly in accordance with the speed-controlling strength, re-classes the speed control facilities, and then studies the speed-controlling mechanism of some typical speed control facilities, such as the optical illusion decelerated marking, thermoplastic vibrational decelerated marking, rubber speed-control hump.(4)The forth chapter unites the speed-controlling mechanism of the speed control facilities, firstly wholly analyzes the actualize principle of the speed control facilities, and then analyzes and studies the design principle and method of the decelerated marking and the speed-control hump.(5)The fifth chapter researches design of the speed control facilities in two-lane mountain highway, in accordance with the feature of accidents which take place in two-lane mountain highway and the demand of controlling speed on the risk road, proposes the design method of peed control facilities in two-lane mountain highway, and validates the method from the safety betterment project of Inner Mongolian S203 line.(6)Finally, the author concludes the work in the dissertation, and analyzes the progress which the dissertation obtained, and brings forward content and direction that will be continuous to research. |
