With the development of modern society and science technology, more and more high-rise and intelligentized buildings are established in the world. Elevator, as a vertical transporting facility, is endued with higher requirement on function and service. Single elevator control is not able to meet the requirement. On this condition, elevator group control system is created and developed. This paper designs an elevator group control system based on CAN bus and realizes an optimized dispatching algorithm under different traffic patterns according to real project requirement.After systematical researching on CAN bus technology and analyzing its implementation advantage in elevator group control system, this paper designs an elevator group control system based on the CAN bus and completes the CAN bus node hardware circuit design of group control unit, elevator control unit, car control unit and floor control unit based on the characteristics and performance requirement of elevator group control system. Take the overload protection as example, CAN bus node communication programme is designed in this paper.Furthermore, this paper creates a compact and effective elevator group control algorithm, which is named integral algorithm, to achieve the minimum waiting time of floor call under different traffic patterns including Up-Peak traffic pattern, Down-Peak traffic pattern, Random Inter-Floor traffic pattern and Idle traffic pattern. The integral algorithm is verified by the elevator traffic simulation software and the result approves its practicability and validity.The elevator group control system based on CAN bus and adopted with integral algorithm in this paper has been implemented into real projects. The elevator group control system has good performance and the customers are satisfied with it. Also it minimizes the gap between local elevator group control technology and international advanced elevator group control technology.
