The Observing And Analyse On The Urban Pattern Of Lanzhou In History

Being is unnecessary to be the best and rational, but it must have reasons inherent. People can know how and why through the phenomena's study. In this paper, Lanzhou is selected to be the study case for its special urban pattern. From general urban pattern to typical block pattern, the evolvement of Lanzhou, especially recently 50 years, is observed. It is found out that the development momentum inherence and general rule of Lanzhou urban pattern development. Relative factors are also groped for, which impact on urban pattern changes. Thus, urban space is expected to well-develop while urban pattern is more rational and sustainable in the future.This paper is a practical research of individual case. Moreover, it can be used for reference to other valley ribbon-form city development in north-west underdevelopment zone of China.
